I am thrilled to be a first-year second-grade teacher! My school is located in a low-income area that focuses heavily on emotional responsive learning and building relationships with students, to provide the best education possible.
It is my goal to create a safe and welcoming environment for my students that will foster their love for learning.
Second-grade students are compassionate, curious, and committed to their learning. I am so excited to work with this group of students!
Flexible seating has been known to benefit students in so many ways. Students in my classroom sometimes struggle to listen to read alouds because of the lack of movement. Wobble stools have been proven to help these students engage more in academics.
Social emotional well-being is the central focus of my classroom.
Especially during the pandemic, students have struggled with regulating their emotions. So much has been going on in my students’ lives since school continues to open and close!
Providing my students with two series of social emotional read alouds will help my students discuss touchy topics. It's important to teach students how to regulate their big emotions, especially during these unprecedented times. Help my students learn to express themselves!
