Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is filled with students who have a variety of different needs. Some students have disabilities, some are learning English, some have emotional needs. Some of my students simply need to be challenged. Despite their challenges, they all come to school very eager to learn and bring a lot to the table.
My students don't necessarily have extra materials or resources at home, so they are very appreciative of the ones we have inside the classroom.
This school is in a low-income area, filled with children with many different needs, but seeing them have the opportunity to have these amazing materials from DonorsChoose is truly a blessing! These materials will really help my students explore.
Thank you in advance for adding to the success of our classroom!
My Project
These materials will truly make a difference in my students' learning on a daily basis. We will start the morning off with learning about different habits using a read aloud each day. We will then act out how to possess traits such as perseverance, flexibility, being a leader, showing empathy, etc.
This will truly help my students gain lifelong skills that they can exhibit both inside the classroom and in the real world.
For example; so many of my students struggle with showing empathy. These read-aloud books will teach them the importance of being a leader and exhibiting those traits.
