My students are caring, loving and always ready to learn. I teach at a Head Start program with children ages 3-5. We help children and families who are low income and dealing with hardships that life throws at you. As part of our program, we encourage family involvement and provide many community resources to our families. With everything many of these children are going through it's amazing to see just how happy they are to come to school every day. My classroom is a safe place that gives these children the opportunity they crave, the opportunity to learn. With COVID and Virtual Learning it is even more important for us to find new ways to connect with our children and their families.
My Project
Children who are regularly read to develop a love of reading and learning. Early exposure to a wide variety of reading materials is the number 1 indicator of school success! Help me expose my classroom to a wide variety of good literature with this collection of reading materials. From favorite author, Mo Willems, to The Book With No Pictures, help me share with my class my own love of reading and the many exciting adventures one can have through the pages of books! Many books in this collection also help support a child's Social/Emotional growth, dealing with big feelings and how to relate to others.
