My Students

I have the privilege of teaching a fantastic group of 4th graders. Our students are currently facing unchartered territory. Providing the fundamentals and skill set to help our students maneuver socially, emotionally, and academically has never been a more vital part of their development. Our students need resources that allow me to provide a curriculum rich in social skills, offer experiences, and time for conversations.

Fourth grade is a huge transition year and building a community of learners is vital to a successful time together.

These resources will foster a classroom community that is supportive. Establishing a time for social-emotional learning in the classroom setting provides a safe space for students to authentically connect to themselves and to others as they build social, emotional and academic success skills.

My Project

Our students are faced with new challenges and pressures. Providing the necessary supports on a consistent basis is vital to the successful development of their social, emotional and academic success. Our district has provided us with an SEL curriculum, but I would like to supplement these materials with quality picture books so students are able to relate more to the SEL lessons.

Establishing a time for social-emotional learning in the classroom setting provides a safe space for students to authentically connect to themselves and to others as they build social, emotional and academic success skills.

I hope to provide engaging lessons so students can practice these important skills and build a true community of learners.
