This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a special education teacher with the privilege of teaching extraordinary individuals. My students are in a specialized self-contained program where we work on social, emotional, behavioral, and academic goals. They work extremely hard to reach the goals that we make together. My students struggle to be successful in reaching their academic goals due to psychological/emotional dysregulation.

Providing my students with Social Emotional Learning resources will increase their emotional intelligence and enable them to access their education.

My Project

The students in our S.O.A.R. Social-Emotional Opportunities Academic Results Program are in need of an SEL Social Emotional Learning curriculum. Our team has found some great resources on TPT Teachers Pay Teachers.

Our program is implemented in a Self-Contained behavioral intervention classroom.

We have three classrooms. Our students are in grades k-4. We service about 25 students, both in person and virtual. We need lessons that can be delivered both digitally and traditionally.

The curriculum we want to purchase will enable us to provide our students with opportunities to manage emotions, stress, and anxiety. Through these lessons, we will develop empathy and help our learners set goals. This curriculum will provide additional resources for us to build a solid foundation to boost our students' emotional intelligence.
