Help me give my students books to help them explore social emotional learning concepts such as self regulation, self management, resilience, diversity, relationships, empathy, and others!
Going back to school this fall will be challenging for all students in different ways. Our students have different needs and issues that can be addressed by being creative educators and staff members. I will be working hard to reduce student anxieties and ease the transition back into the school building.
My focus this year is Social Emotional Learning.
I am a firm believe that teaching our students social emotional skills now will benefit them for the rest of their lives in an impactful way.
My Project
Help me give my students a few new books to help explore social emotional learning concepts. Now, more than ever, our students need social emotional learning skills to conquer the world that is in front of them. These books will be read at home virtually and they will be taken into the classroom setting or my office when students are in the building.
With new anxieties and isolation, our students would all benefit from learning how to manage their emotions and learn appropriate coping skills to reduce negative effects of daily living, and living during a pandemic.
These books will touch on empathy, bullying, kindness, self regulation, growth mindset, acceptance and diversity, and courage.
