My Students

My students are amazing young men and women who come to school everyday to feel safe, safe from their racing thoughts, their fears, their isolation, their anger. They are compassionate individuals who need a space to channel the difficult emotions that rise from trauma.

Now more than ever, in the face of COVID19, my students need additional resources.

Aristotle says “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” Breathe for Change is the answer to healing in my classroom.

My Project

My students will not be involved in this training, but they will have an educator that is more trauma informed and better equipped to help them navigate these tough times. The pandemic has been so incredibly difficult on our children. As a special educator, it is my job to care for the whole child.

More so now than ever that includes their social emotional development.

Breathe For Change is a movement enhancing the health and well-being of educators, students, and entire communities. They offer the world’s only 200 and now 300 hour Digital Wellness, SEL and Yoga Teacher training DESIGNED FOR EDUCATORS and community leaders inspired to use wellness as a vehicle for healing and social change. Since 2015, they’ve certified 5,000+ educators, and impacted over 500,000 students. It is my hope that I will now be one of those educators who will impact the students of my district.
