Each morning the 16 students in my full-day preschool classroom walk into my classroom curious about the world around them and are excited to see what the day will hold.
My 3-5 years old students, come from a wide range of cultural and linguist homes and for many this is their first school experience.
My students love learning and are eager to come to school each day, but they also have their challenges. A large majority of the students in our district receive free or reduced price lunch and almost all of my students qualify for free or reduced tuition. In addition, our district has a large population of students who are non-native English speakers. In my classroom specifically, 30% of my students speak multiple languages.
We are fortunate to have a full day preschool program that can support so many students and their families during this important time in their development. Please consider supporting my students.
My Project
The My First Dollhouse, Dollhouse Basement, Wooden Dollhouse Furniture, Family and Pet Sets will help my students have opportunities to explore various roles within families and friends. My students come from culturally and linguistic diverse backgrounds, having toy families that match their own will allow them to really own their their stories.
Dollhouse play allows students to explore the emotions of others, identifying the feelings and learning how to solve conflicts and problems that may arise in a safe and secure environment.
Students who may not be comfortable or able to manage their emotions in the heat of the moment will be able to explore them with peers through play.
