Our school has students from all different types of backgrounds. Our students come to school every day ready to tackle any challenges they face. We have students with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, speech and language delays, and various other disabilities. We also have a large population of English Language Learners. Despite these challenges, they continue to try their hardest in school! Our students come from different walks of life, but that doesn't change their desire to learn and grow! Unfortunately, some of our students live in shelters and do not have access to the tools they so desperately need, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, as they continue to navigate through these difficult times. Despite the obstacles they face, our students have remained focused on their goals and eager to succeed.
Our students are hard-working, creative, ambitious, and eager to learn.
With the right tools and proper guidance, I have no doubt that they will reach their goals!
As a school guidance counselor ,I work with various students with social emotional and financial needs. Many of my students live in shelters or doubled up temporary housing. I am requesting for fidgets when in crisis, games to have a social activity with peers, and snacks for encouragement and recognition of efforts.
Please help me build my collection of games and provide them with some stress relief toys and snacks when they are dealing with an emotional crisis.
Adolescents have changing interests in middle school and need additional motivators. They are becoming bored with my current collection of games and need something new and exciting. Some games are too challenging for my 6th graders. My students need some variety!
