Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Recently during our recess activities, there has been much conflict on the soccer field. Our students run aimlessly around the field with no boundaries and no goal to shoot for. The lack of funding in our district does not allocate money for this type of circumstance. We are in need of some structure, which allows students to be free and play a game they love. We are submitting a request for four new portable soccer goals that the students can set up themselves during recess. Also we would like four sets of numbered soccer pinnies so they can divide into teams. Our plan of attack using these resources is to teach the students here at Flowery the team aspect of soccer. Each student will know who is on their team and where they should aim their shot. Recently their only goal is the back of a first grade classroom (you can imagine how great that sounds). Soccer is an important aspect of our schools culture. Unfortunately, many of the students that attend our school are unable to participate in an after school club/rec team. Therefore, Flowery is the only place where they can participate in a soccer game with all of their friends. These materials would reach our entire student population, about 400 students. You would be making a HUGE IMPACT!
