Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our school does the MPS Rec soccer league, and a lot of our students want to take part. For some of these students, it is their first or only experience being a part of a team.

Being a part of a team builds their social skills, makes them feel part of a community, and gives them a sense of pride.

A lot of our kids don't have access to items needed for soccer, such as cleats, sports bags, and soccer balls. Providing these items will give them the necessary tools to have a successful season! Not only that, but it will give them the confidence to continue to join teams!
