My students/players are a diverse group of great kids from a small rural area of Louisiana. All of them want to achieve, but many face barriers to academic success, including challenges outside of the school setting. A positive thing that many of my students share is a love of sports and pride in our school!
My goal is to help all of my students achieve success.
Not just in sports and in school, but also in life. Involvement in school sports and clubs helps to keep them focused and accountable which gives them a much better chance of graduating and preparing for successful futures.
My Project
Anyone who has had the pleasure of watching high school soccer knows that it can unfortunately lead to bumps and bruises on occasion. In every match we tend to need ice for players, either on our team or opposing teams, for injuries sustained during the matches. Unfortunately, we do not have an ice machine near the field so we have to have the trainer or one of the kids or coaches run across cannot us to get ice whenever we need it. If we were to get this ice machine, we could put it in the soccer storage next to the field bathrooms and we would have ice readily available whenever we need it, not just for injuries but also to aid in keeping our kiddos hydrated during the games. This would tremendously benefit our players, opponents, and coaches alike.
