Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students we serve are from ages 4-6 year olds and live in D.C.. We are trying to get our students to do something productive and healthy to keep their minds and bodies motivated on positive choices.

Most of our children live in Washington D.C..

Our first season of soccer held in the fall was an AMAZING success without any help. However we would like to get our students some pinnies and more soccer equipment so that they feel even more like a team. Following KIPP DC's call of Work Hard and Be Nice this will push our team and family to the next level.

My Project

We are currently requesting pinnies that can be used over and over. We are expanding the league from just being kindergarten only to include Pre-Kindergarten and first grade. This will have a greater impact on even more students and families. This is just the beginning, with our school only being 3 years old we also plan to keep expanding extra curricular sports for early elementary students.

Our project is so important because KIPP organization as a whole believes in strengthening team and family values.

One reason we drive our students so hard is because we know and believe All Children Will Learn! With the support of parents there is no end and our children will make it to and through college!
