Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 6th-grade teacher in a Title I School, which means that most of my students come from a low socioeconomic household. Sometimes this is a setback for many of them to be able to participate in extracurricular after-school activities. Something I love about my students this year is their passion for playing the most popular sport in the world, SOCCER. I can see the happiness in their eyes and I can feel the enthusiasm to be able to play soccer in a team during our after-school program. My students love to play soccer.
My Project
Having these 2 soccer goals in our school will make a huge difference in my student's learning. My students are already so passionate and dedicated to learning about the most popular sport in the world, so these goals will help them practice their shot accuracy on goal, practice their goalie skills, and to be able to score some beautiful goals into the nets. We will be using these goals during our after-school soccer program to improve skills such as ball control, passing, kicking, scoring goals, defending, and practicing free kicks and corner kicks. My students would benefit so much from these materials and they would be so happy to use them every day.
