This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a veteran special education teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district where my students are faced with many challenges, which they fight hard to overcome. This year, I am starting a soccer club with 4th and 5th grade students.

I have a strong soccer background, both playing and coaching, and I'm looking to share this knowledge and experience with my kids, many of whom LOVE soccer but don't have the opportunity to play in an organized way.

Many of the students don't know any of the rules of the game or understand the flow of a soccer game. Our school does not have any of the equipment for this club to be successful.

My Project

As a club, we will meet Tuesdays every week after school from September to May. We do not have any supplies for the club. We are in need of two soccer goals.

What fun is soccer without a GOAL?

I'm so excited to bring my love of the game of soccer to my students but we are in need of some more equipment.

My students LOVE to play but many do not have the opportunity to play on a team. This club will give them that chance, along with learning the game and meeting new friends! We just need your help!
