This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
About My Students
Many of the students that I work with are struggling readers, who really want to learn. Most of the time they become frustrated because they the lack foundation skills need to succeed in a 8th grade Reading class.
In hopes to motivate them, they suggested ways they would like to learn outside of normal teacher-student interactions in hopes to bridge the gaps before they go to high-school. School Supplies, such as pencils, paper, pens, markers, etc. will really allow my students to be able to get complete assignments with ease without wasting instructional time because they don't have the resources they need to get the work done.
My students will develop skills through the use of these school supplies because they will have all of the materials they need to ensure they are successful in the class. Many times students don't have things as simple as a pencil. These supplies will ensure that students get to write while class is in session. The students will be able to continue working through lessons without having to waste instructional time trying to obtain materials they need to master their standards.

I am hoping that these materials will help me be able to utilize the most of my instructional time. Most often, time is wasted in the classroom as we try to obtain the material we need to complete assignments in the class. This project will ensure that we can maximize the most of our instructional time so that our grades will reflect the time spent investing in my education.
I will make the most of the leadership opportunity involved in this project by helping distribute the school supplies to my classmates that may be less fortunate so that they too are able to succeed in the classroom. I will also be able to distribute the material to classmates to make the best of the instructional time allotted.
This project is extremely important to me because I want to ensure that all of my classmates are able to succeed in classroom. Not having the resources to do that could put a damper on the learning process. This can also cut down on wasting instructional time. This will ensure that my classmates are able to succeed.
