Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When you walk into our classroom, you see many different faces. However, when you take a closer look, you realize our differences are what makes us work so well as a team. We come from different backgrounds and experiences, but when we are at school, we are working together to make the most out of our learning experience.
Our classroom is a happy, respectful place where all of us feel safe to express ourselves.
We are from a new generation of students who are technologically advanced, creative, and are not afraid to ask questions. Our learning looks different from other generations of students. We don't know a world without YouTube, social media, and cell phones, and our teacher is always looking for new, exciting ways to engages us in the learning that takes place every day for every student in our classroom.
My Project
Mastering math facts is an essential skill for mathematical success and learning. It seems with the rise of computers and technology, our students are lacking this essential skill. With Rocket Math, students will have access to the needed paper and pencil practice of math facts, but also the fun and engaging practice of the online program as well.
I have seen the tremendous support and growth this program has provided to students in their quest to master math facts in second grade.
They have fun learning and get to do it at their own individual pace. With daily online practice and assessment at their level, students feel a sense of accomplishment as they pass each level. It really is a great program!
