My students need the training, stength, agility, and skills equipment to help improve their athletic flexibility to help prevent injuries and boost athletic performance.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our 550 scholars, as we call them, come from all over Charleston County. They have made the choice to come to our school. Our school is one of the most diverse in our county. Around 50% of our population receives free or reduced-price lunch. Our scholars come ready and eager to learn with amazing ideas.
Our scholars come from a wide range of diverse backgrounds.
And they continue to push themselves to be the best they can be. They are our future generation.
My Project
For any athlete maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying injury free is crucial. Making sure you push yourself and your body to new heights to peak your performance on the court is something you are always trying to achieve. For our girl's basketball team we are expecting them to give everything they can to maximize their potential as players. And for us as coaches, we must provide them with the knowledge and equipment to do so.
The strength and agility equipment will help them get better and help them take care of their bodies to better prevent injuries.
The resistance bands, hurdles, poly spots, and hoops will be used to build their agility to give them quicker feet on the court when defending and moving up and down the floor. The blocking pad and the dribbling googles will help them build their basketball skills to improve all around on the court.
