Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
How did you learn to read? My students love to engage in reading activities on the computer. We have a great reading program that meets students at their level. We could just really use headphones to meet the needs of our students.
My students are like little sponges hanging on to my every word.
They love learning and look forward to our daily computer time. We are a small school in Texas and oftentimes we don't have the supplies and materials that would benefit our students. My students have great attendance and no matter what, they get to school because they don't want to miss out on the next big idea that we are learning.
My Project
The headphones we are requesting will allow students to engage in the reading program independently and without distraction. It would really benefit all of my students as they improve their reading skills. The reading program targets their instructional level and provides the students with specific phonics skills, phonemic awareness skills, sight words, and word building. As students meet their goals, the rigor increases. They continue to improve their reading skills and move ahead in their reading level and become successful readers.
By supporting this project, you will be helping a classroom of students who genuinely love learning.
They do not all have access to computers and technlogy in their homes, so by donating, you are providing an authentic opportunity and experience for these 6 year olds. Thank you.
