Our Thompson Team learners are filled with curiosity, brimming with enthusiasm and overflowing with kindness! My Grade Two Crew students are eager to embrace challenges, exchange diverse perspectives and gain new knowledge through their growth mindsets! My energetic second-graders enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, tinker, collaborate, invent, innovate, create and explore.
They gleefully read books, create original artwork, build structures and collaborate through team-building projects throughout the day.
They beam with joy as they proudly identify phonics patterns, math algorithms, writer's workshop edits, and science experiment variables; overall, these second-grade sproutlets love to learn and grow together as a classroom family! Our community highlights creative risk tasking, prides itself on empathy and tolerance, and celebrates uniqueness (of cultures, perspectives, beliefs, and strategies)!
My Project
Flexible seating is an important addition to any modern-day classroom. I've seen firsthand how much more engaged my students are in a classroom with alternative seating options. They are given the freedom to make responsible choices as to where they'd like to work for the day. Flexible seating also allows students to collaborate in more creative ways with their peers. According to "Parent Today", a teacher explains, “Flexible seating allows kids to choose where they learn best and to work comfortably, which results in students being more comfortable and productive.”
My engaged and dynamic young learners would greatly welcome the writer's workshop toolkit additions.
