Soaring Heart Sculptures!

Help me give my students an exciting 3D project that will make their hearts soar! Students will be using aluminum foil, paper mache, and tempera paints to create a heart with wings.

My Students

My kids are art ninjas. Once a week, for 45 minutes, they leave their 'elementary student' self behind and become art ninjas. In my ninja art studio, students walk in to paper cranes flying from the ceilings, bright colors, and their art sensei excited to see them. We have many art ninjas who are physically handicapped and use wheel chairs, who are learning how to speak English, and many who have emotional needs. But in art, we're all just ninjas.

My Project

We use a lot of basic materials to create artwork and students are extremely creative with the materials they have. I would like to offer our students an opportunity to work with more advanced materials to create a sculpture piece they could keep forever.

With exciting materials like paper mache and Plastrcraft, my students will get an experience in sculpture that would normally not be possible.

They will be creating hearts with wings and painting them bright colors to have a treasure they can be proud of and feel like a more advanced artist! My hope is that this will open the door to sculpture and encourage kids down this exciting path in creating!
