My students need enough copy paper to keep us supplied for the year.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to our school! We are a Title I elementary school in a low-income urban neighborhood, educating students from Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Eighty-six percent of our students receive free or reduced rate lunch, and 100% receive free breakfast daily.
Our children may not have much, but they are kind, inquisitive, and love to learn.
The school is the heart of the community, and our library is the heart of the school. As the librarian, I do my best to fill my students' lives with quality books, the joy of reading, and tools for learning.
My Project
In the library, I shy away from worksheets and other photocopied activities. But when I have to make copies, I have to make a LOT of copies to have enough for all 600 students! A welcome newsletter, login guidelines, Book Fair flyers and more have already used up nearly 1/3 of the library's allocation of paper for the year after only 4 weeks of school.
Four cases of copy paper means I will never have to decide between making what my kids need or "making do" with something else.
I will use this paper to send home useful library communications, provide timely information to parents, and yes, occasionally make a worksheet to accompany a quality learning activity that requires paper and pencil.
