My Students

I have been blessed with the honor of being a Kindergarten teacher for one of our inner city public schools. My class is typically comprised of, on average, 20 students from a wide mixture of backgrounds, which include both inner city and upper middle class.

From day one together I have taught my students that we are a class family.

This mantra has transformed our classroom relationships and empathy for each other.

My Project

For this project, I would like to request funding for a bulk supply of cleaning supplies for our classroom.

I have always set the expectation of having a clean classroom for my students, but it is even more vital now that we are in the COVID pandemic.

I would like to purchase a bulk supply of hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes for our classroom.

Each day my students eat breakfast and an afternoon snack in our classroom. When they have thrown away their trash, they know to get a wipe to clean their table spot. I have recently gone through all of the wipes and hand sanitizer that I had in stock, so we have run into a snag when it comes to disinfecting our areas.

We are not allowed to ask parents to supply these materials, so I would like to request funding to purchase them for our classroom. Even a small donation would go a long way to help keep my students clean and healthy.
