Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a rural, low-income community, with limited opportunities. My students have numerous skills that will help them succeed, but require opportunities to develop and strengthen their natural talents.
My students are bright, active, motivated, students.
They actively work to succeed in and out of the classroom. They get excited by learning new things and have new experiences. They all have the ability to be successful and excel at anything they put their minds to. My students constantly strive to grow and learn.
My Project
My students need a clean, relaxing, learning environment and quick and easy access to water to meet their full potential in my classroom. A water cooler and supplies for my students to access water would make a major impact on my students learning experience. Dehydration can have negative effects on the mind and body and result in students being unable to stay focused and engaged. Ensuring that the classroom smells clean and fresh with essential oils will ensure that the students feel that they are entering a welcoming environment. Water and essential oil will assist my student in feeling focused and engaged.
"To live, a man needs food, water, and a sharp mind." -Louis Zamperini Being hungry, thirsty, and dealing with unpleasant smells can keep learners from fully engaging in classroom learning.
When student's basic needs are fulfilled it is easier for them to apply themselves to their full potential.
