My Students

Most of my students come from low-income, rough areas, with little to no home support when it comes to learning and bettering themselves through education. Regardless of their situations they always come in with smiles on their faces and ready to pick out books! They love to read and share their books with their friends with the time remaining in class. However, currently there are only wooden chairs for them to read in. They deserve a place to relax, read, and share their books... a place that can bring that enjoyment of reading and learning. I would love to give my students a safe, enjoyable oasis to enjoy reading, expand their minds, and improve their reading skills. A place they enjoy coming to and can call their own.

My Project

I teach at two elementary schools and most of my students are from low-income, rough areas but they are all smiles when they come into the library. Currently, there are wooden chairs and a few stools to sit on and read, but I'd love to give them different options to snuggle in, relax, and read in. I want them to have a safe, comfortable place to expand their minds and improve their reading skills. These resources would go to two very deserving schools with over 700 students combined. I would love for reading to become their safe and happy place to go when their outside world is tough.
