My Students

I teach at a small school that is home to an extremely diverse body of students. At our elementary school, we have students that came here from Iraq, Cuba, Mexico, and the Philippines. My students love coming to school, and they actually get sad on Fridays when they leave.

The vast majority of my students come from low socioeconomic households.

My school is a "community" school which means we offer after school learning until 7 each day! Our school is like a second home to our students!

My Project

This adorable carpet would be a great tool for the kids to sit upon while learning during Literacy and Math. They tend to fidget at their desks and sitting near me at the Active board would help them maintain attention.

It would be a very helpful addition to the children.

It is colorful and interesting and I think they would love this rug! Children need a transition place from their desks during the day. The carpets would provide such a place. My students need to have a colorful inviting classroom. It is so motivating to them and makes school seem more special.
