My students need a new large rug for our classroom; a very important part of our instructional environment.

I LOVE being able to start my children off on the right foot, teaching them not only the academics they need but how to DO school. My students come from all over the city, from very different socio-economic backgrounds and home situations.
Kindergarten is such a special grade level, as it is the very beginning of the education journey.
We learn to work together and become our own little family within the classroom.
I take pride in starting my students' parents off on the partnership that is so needed in education. I encourage them to be my partner as we raise their child to their full potential in kindergarten. This sets the stage for their involvement during the remaining years of school.
The carpet area is the focal point of my classroom. We meet there first thing for our morning meeting, plan our day or share ideas with each other.
A large, clean carpet is VITAL to kindergarten instructional time!
My students spend more than half of their day on this central part of the classroom. We will start out on the carpet for every lesson, before moving to small group or independent work.
We come together on the carpet to share great literature, to play learning games to help with reading and math and to use our smartboard for whole group instruction.
We finalize our day on the carpet as we recap our day and share reminders and plans for the next day.
