My Students
I have the pleasure to teach 21 of the sweetest 6 and 7 year old 1st graders. Our school is a Title I school on the outskirts of Charlotte NC.
Several of my students have special learning needs, and most have challenges making ends meet at home.
But, they all come to school ready to learn and love every minute of it. Our school is fortunate to have several garden boxes where students help plant and harvest crops. Hands on learning is essential for giving students a sense of accomplishment. Your donation will help my students in the classroom and broaden their experiences.
My Project
First graders love to sit on the floor. We have class meetings, work with learning manipulatives, and read on the floor. Currently, the students are not happy when it is time to sit for group activities. The carpet is dirty, smelly, and falling apart.
A new rug will not only brighten the room but motivate the students to come to the carpet.
Each student will also have a clear designated place to sit due to the design of the carpet.
