My Students

A day in our class looks like fun! We listen to stories, we learn to count, add, and subtract, and we play to learn. Our biggest challenge is that my students started the school year a little behind their peers.

My students scored below average on the beginning kindergarten assessment.

My students are the hardest workers, and they are hungry to learn. We are in the lowest socioeconomic part of our city. My students only get access to technology in our classroom thanks to previous donations from DonorsChoose.

My Project

I teach a class of sweet kiddos that love to MOVE! They love to dance and sing! I have found this innovative new way of teaching sight words. We will no longer need to sound out every letter. These SNAP cards have a picture built into the sight word. I downloaded the first free seven and my children LOVED it. All of my different learner styles will have the opportunity to learn the way they learn best. For example, the word "eat" has teeth for the e and an apple for the a! It is so clever! I know that our reading fluency will soar!
