Help me give my students a fun way to show off their hard work with a camera!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are energetic, kind, superstar 4th graders who love to learn! All of my students come to school determined to learn and are committed to giving their best effort in everything they do. Many of my students are English language learners who come from non-English speaking homes. My students are hardworking and enjoy working collaboratively to solve problems and complete assignments.
Regardless of any challenges, my students are always determined to overcome any and all obstacles that come their way!
As a Title I achievement school, the majority of my students come from low-income families. Being an achievement school means we are focused on turning our school around and showing just how great we can be! Currently, 94% of students at our school receive free or reduced price lunch. Being in a low-income area, we have a portion of students who are homeless. It can be difficult for these students to stay focused on learning when they have so much going on outside of school, but my students are fighters who do their best to overcome these obstacles! As their teacher, it's my job to do whatever it takes to ensure that they learn and succeed in school!
This camera will make a huge difference in our classroom! There are so many times when my students are doing great things and I want to show that off. My goal is to create a "superstar wall" in my classroom where I can display pictures of my students showing off their hard work. This will allow anyone who comes in my room see what my students have been up to and which kids have gone above and beyond!
When students are instantly praised for their achievements, it helps reinforce their excitement about learning.
Whenever a student works extra hard on an assignment, shows growth, and/or creates something that contributes to the class lesson, I will use the camera to take a picture of them with their achievements to display on our superstar wall. This will help motivate my students as they all strive to make it on the superstar wall. Once a student's picture has been up for awhile, I will give it to them to take it home and share it with their parents. This will be a great way to keep parents informed with what their child is working on in school. Having this camera will help motivate my students and praise them for their successes!
