My students are curious and I want them to stay curious. My wish is to provide them with the opportunity to engage in multiple experiments using snap circuits. These activities working with electronic circuit boards may sound ambitious or advanced, but my students will enjoyed playing with these as part of their science and technology learning. They learned many concepts about creating circuits from hands-on play, in particular by using these kid-friendly snap circuit sets. These students are motivated and excited about learning. I want them to have the opportunity to extend their learning. My students come from a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
These snap circuits will allow students to have experiences they might otherwise not have.
My students are all motivated and excited about learning. Our school is diverse and our class reflects our school. All of these students are excited and curious about the world around them. I would like to continue to do more to foster their creativity and provide opportunities for hands-on learning whenever possible. I want to help encourage their natural curiosity about learning and the world around them. You can help them stay curious!
My Project
My project will give my students a chance to do hands on exploration with snap circuits. These sets including the SNAP CIRCUIT Jr. 100 Experiments, have standardized the various possible elements of a circuit by embedding them into snap-together plastic pieces, so my students don’t have to learn circuitry with fussy wires and uncooperative pieces that challenge fine motor skills. Students will have chances to use a variety of strategies to figure out multiple ways to use the snap circuits. Snap CIrcuit Lights features an infrared detector and strobe light along with color-changing LEDs and glow-in-the-dark fans. This set was built with strobe integrated circuits and fiber-optic communication for dynamic responsiveness to music played through the system. My students will love this and see the connection between sound and electricity.
There are project guides and diagrams for the kits, including how to build circuits activated by sound, light, temperature, and motion.
The storage charging unit will help my students have safe, accessible, and consistent access to charged chrome books and ipads for a variety of purposes including research and inquiry. All these materials will help my students explore and STAY CURIOUS!
