Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In a neighborhood where simply coming to school is a positive action, my kids have far bigger worries than receiving an F in their classes. Homelessness, multiple families in a two bedroom apartment, physical, mental, emotional, and verbal abuse, child raising child, financial struggles, absent parent/s, suicidal thoughts are just some issues my students have to deal with on top of having disabilities, being an English Language Learner, and not have enough resources.
The least, the least I can do is to make learning a little easier, more accessible, and make school a fun and safe environment.
My students are capable, willing, and wanting to thrive but there are times they just don't have all the resources they need.
My Project
Getting a photo printer for our classroom will help our students get photos a lot faster and easier to create colorful bulletin boards to help beautify our school and to make their projects more lively.
Creating an inviting and beautiful campus makes it easier for students to come to school.
A lot of my students struggle with motivation and desire to come to school because of all the obstacles they face once they step off of our campus so it is imperative to create a positive environment. Students tend to interact better with environments where they were able to make an impact.
