Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first grade students are from a low income part of our town in Eastern Washington. Their backgrounds are diverse and everyone qualifies for free lunches because of the extreme poverty in this area.
Even though most of our students are living in poverty we have an award winning school because the teachers at our school work hard and the students are putting forth great effort.
We have an extremely good group of students. They are proud of their school and they deserve to have the best supplies.
My Project
I went to a STEM day at our local college. When I went I took my two grandsons, a three year old and an eight year old. They had the best time playing with the snap circuits! The recommended age on them is 8 years old and up but they are simple enough that even the three year old could figure them out.
My students need quality materials like these snap circuits to expand their knowledge and help them to figure out how electricity works!
My students and I love to work with new science materials and being able to experiment with these snap circuits will take their STEAM/STEM projects to a new level. This is a great way for them to understand how electricity works.
