Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am in my second year of teaching and want to continue providing anything that I can for my students. All students deserve a learning environment that speaks to how much the world believes in, relies upon, and expects of them.
The students from my school live in one of the highest inner-city poverty areas in not just New York, but in the entire nation.
Many of our students are English language learners who have emigrated from all over the world seeking both safety and opportunity.
All of my classes integrate students of highly variable skillsets. I am blessed with a co-teacher who is licensed in special education and the two of us try our best to meet the many needs of all our learners. We are seeking outside support in helping to provide our students with essentials to support their learning.
My Project
Here in the Bronx we are on the front-lines of a war against poverty. It is tragic that one need not travel outside of our country to find worthy recipients of charity. Too many of my students are such worthy recipients!
I see hunger every day and it breaks my heart as it would yours.
When this project is funded, every snack donated will provide essential life-sustaining energy only found in food to a student in need. We, as humans, are living beings who require sunshine and nutrients. The children that I teach are like every other human being on the planet. Please help sustain my students because I can not do it alone!
