Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Second grade is such an awesome grade to teach! My second-grade class is extremely fun to be with, so eager to learn, and has already developed such a positive outlook on life! They are still young at heart and for the most part, loves school and their teacher. They are also old enough to explore content on a much deeper level. As a second grade teacher, I truly enjoy helping my students develop their outlook on education, life, and the world around them.

My Project

Many of our families are financially struggling to afford food and other household items for scholars. In some cases, the only meal or snack students may receive when they are at school.

These snacks are going to make a significant impact on my students' well-being and learning.

If a scholar is hungry, it's often hard for them to focus. By providing snacks for my students such as granola bars, Juicy Juices, and PopTarts, I can assist my students outside of the classroom while they are engaged in furthering their academic studies.

I want to make one less burden for students outside of the classroom by providing them a snack, and setting each student up for success not only inside of the school but outside of the school as well.
