Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a School Counselor in a low-income, high poverty school. My students face challenges every day, in and out of the classroom. It is my job to make sure my students have the necessary materials to develop a lifelong love of learning in a safe and engaging classroom where they can feel successful.
Despite the 98% of students who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch and the hardships my students face on a daily basis, they are creative, full of energy, and eager to learn every day.
I am looking to get some snacks for our students to help them get through the day. A majority of my students do not have the ability to bring a snack every day to school. To have them available in my office will be a huge help. We know how hard it is to focus on an empty stomach. I am looking for things like granola bars and other healthy snacks. This will help so my students are able to maintain focus during the day in between breakfast and lunch. I also send a snack home with my students at the end of the day so that I know they have a snack before dinner. Thanks for supporting my students.
