This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students want to learn new and exciting skills. The majority of my students are on free or reduced-price lunch. Our school has been categorized as one of the lowest three hundred schools in the state. They are in a school that doesn't have much technology or literacy support.
Our students are in an inner-city school as well as a Title I School in Miami, Fl where 95% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
The majority of my students are faced with socio-economic challenges which hinder their self-esteem. Despite the hardships, our students come every day putting their best effort forth to learn. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn through technology and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can to become successful one day. Although they face many struggles daily, I am hoping to keep conditions as normal and accessible as possible to provide my students with opportunities to create life-lasting, meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
My students are an eager group of students that love learning. They come to school daily with many outside challenges. Many of my students are living in a shelter and they rely on the school food to nourish themselves.
I want to provide my students with weekend snacks so that they can have something to eat on the weekends.
My students deserve to have everything that they need. I want to make sure that they can focus on learning and not on being hungry. These snacks are going to go a long way for my students. They will be able to take a snack bag home on the weekends so that they can have have enough to eat.
