Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Never would I have thought, that I would run into the most loveable set of students. They are smart, considerate, mannerable, and full of hope. They make every second of working in my role very much worth it. Their curiosity and willingness to learn about life and how to maneuver the high school experience are so amazing to witness.

They have a strong desire to be their own definition of successful and they take PRIDE in doing it the right way.

All of my students possess a unique savviness that promises them a bright future. I absolutely admire their fearless but strategic approach to life.

My Project

When children don't have to focus on an empty stomach, they perform better both academically and behaviorally. Rather than concentrating on the depressive and embarrassing thoughts that may cross their mind, they can enjoy the learning experience instead.

These snacks are more than just snacks to these students, it's a gesture that will forever leave an imprint on their hearts and lets them know there are people who actually care about what they are going through.

I am mindful that hunger is an extremely sensitive topic, so being able to show my students where they can go if they are hungry in a passive manner, really helps to control the climate and culture of my classrooms.
