Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class is a diverse group of students who enjoy a variety of things. Stemming from video games and sports to fencing and theatre, my scholars embody the virtues of empathy and respect allowing them to grow in every aspect possible.

Just as diverse as their interests are--their learning styles are.

From kinesthetic to visual, my students require lessons to be presented in many modalities. Learning should be accessible to all students in the classroom. When these needs are met, I believe my scholars will be able to flourish to become academically successful individuals that'll make strides in their own lives and the lives of others.

My Project

Students learn best when they have the energy to help propel their learning and engagement. With your contributions, learners will have their basic necessities available to them in the classroom.

Research shows that when students are provided with food, they are more focused, alert, and engaged in the classroom setting.

While we cannot provide full meals for our learners, we can intervene by having small snacks available to address hunger that arises.

With this addition of water, cookies, and baked/popped chips into the classroom, students will feel cared for, loved and also have access to some small and healthy/clean snacks for consumption. The goal is to stop hunger at the door for our learners and provide them with the nutritional additives that some students don't have access to daily.
