Ms. Sahm from Chattanooga TN is requesting materials related to food, clothing & hygiene through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need snacks like granola bars, fruit ropes, crackers, and applesauce so they are able to do their best and learn every day. My students also need storage bins for the snacks.

My school is located in the inner city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. We are a Pre-K through 5th grade school with around 495 students. Our school is 98% free or reduced lunch. Here at my school we are doing our best to engage every student, every day with a variety of learning activities.
My class is full of energetic, creative, and funny second graders from the inner city of Chattanooga.
They have many obstacles to overcome everyday to be successful at school.
I teach 7 and 8 year olds who sometimes skip breakfast. Research shows that without your basic needs met, you are unable to do your best. We have a four hour gap between breakfast and lunch everyday. So even kids that eat breakfast are still going to be hungry by lunch.
Every day I hear, I'm hungry, when's lunch?
The sad reality is when I ask for everyone to bring in snacks, only a small portion do. So to make sure everyone has a snack everyday, I'm asking for your help. With full tummies, I know my kids will be more successful. Some of the snacks I'm asking for are: Goldfish crackers, fruit ropes, fruit Snacks, Kid's Clif Bars, applesauce, granola bars, and peanut butter and crackers. I'm also asking for large plastic storage bins to keep the snacks fresh and manageable.
