Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
During this pandemic I have been deployed to run a Regional Enrichment Center. The scholars are a melting pot of children from all over NYC, ranging from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The center was opened to support the childcare needs of our first responders and essential workers who are caring for our sick and keeping the necessary businesses open.
If we don't care for their children who will be able to care for us?
My Project
Scholars who attend the REC are the children of our first responders and essential workers. During this pandemic having to leave your house is very scary. Hours have been cut making money short. While coming to the center the scholars are given meals however snacks are not available. Your donation will provide the scholars with snacks throughout the day as well as allow us to send some things home to ensure that they have enough to eat to make it through this pandemic. Scholars deserve little treats to help ease their fears.
