This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The children in my classroom are high-risk students who come from low-income families. My school is a Title I school and every child receives a free lunch. I am passionate about working with young children and with your support, we can ensure that my students have the learning resources needed to reach their educational goals.

My students have a wide range of needs in the areas of social-emotional skills, communication, and academics. Despite what obstacles and hardships the children face outside of school, they come to the classroom every day ready to learn. My students inspire me to be the best teacher that I can be. I will continue to advocate for my students in order to ensure that they receive a quality education.

My Project

With the rise of the Covid-19 cases in our district we are currently learning virtually. I created this project requesting snacks that will be distributed to my students while they are at home. When we are virtual attendance seems to be lower when compared to in-person learning. I requested a few gift cards which will be added to the snack bags as a surprise for attending virtual learning. The snacks that I ordered are healthy snacks in order to promote healthy eating. I requested reusable bags. The bags will be used to store the snacks that will be dropped off to each student. I am hoping that the reusable bags will help the students and families think about being more environmentally friendly and reusing the bag.
