Help me give my students snacks to stay focused and energized throughout the school day. They need a variety of choices such as fruit snacks, crackers, and chips.
Who says school can't be fun? In my class, I strive to make learning engaging and new for my students each day. My students use a variety of materials and resources to help ensure that they are successful.
My class is filled with adorable Second graders with a passion for learning and a love for school.
My students come to school ready to learn and often times don't want to leave. My school is a Title I school in West Virginia with limited resources. We have a high percentage of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My students have a special place in my heart and I cannot imagine teaching anywhere else. They want to succeed. They want to please and they want to learn. They just need the means and someone to root for them to know that they can do anything. It is the best feeling in the world, seeing their eyes light up when they finally get something that they have been struggling with.
My Project
My students need healthy snacks such as fruit snacks and crackers to keep them energized for learning all day long! These snacks would allow my students to have enough energy to keep on learning throughout the day and grow their brains! If we can make sure they get a snack, they will be able to better focus and really build the fundamental knowledge necessary for them to go onto the next grade and continue to be successful throughout school.
How well does your brain work when your tummy is hungry?
As adults we can power through the hunger but our work probably isn't our best. I want my students to always give their best, so this project would give students a variety of snacks from Goldfish to fruit snacks to a variety of other crackers and chips. I want to ensure that every child can have an afternoon snack break to keep them lively and help them maintain focus.
Our busy schedule has us eating a very early lunch, so by 1:00 they are starving. I can't really blame them. Students would eat these snacks to break up the time between lunch and going home. While we have a designated snack time, not all families can afford to send a snack every day, so this supply will allow all students to have the access to a variety of snacks every day.
My job as their teacher is to keep their brains growing. I cannot do this without filling their stomachs and meeting their immediate needs first. Students work best when their tummies are full!
