My Students

I teach in an area that is often described as rough. Children come from homes that face homelessness, economic hardships, and instability. Yet they come to school every day smiling and ready to learn.

We are nearly 100 percent free or reduced lunch, yet my students are most loving people I've ever met.

I am lucky to get to spend my day with these children. My goal as a teacher is to help them grow and learn as best as they can. I love watching their progress throughout the year and helping them reach their potential.

My Project

My students are provided with free breakfast and lunch, however, the time between these meals can seem like forever for little learners. Many of my students come from families that face economic hardships such as homelessness. These families are unable to provide snacks for their children.

My students are unable to learn when they are listening to the sound of their stomach grumbling.

I am seeking healthy snacks to give to students. These snacks will help students stay full and focused during lessons. When a student is fed and nourished they are able to do their best and can be successful during the day. I never want to send my students home hungry and these snacks will allow me to keep them full and happy.
