This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"Upon the subject of education... I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people my be engaged. " Abraham Lincoln. Through this project, I will instill excitement and a sense of pride, in my kindergarten students, as they succeed in their education.
My students love, laugh, build relationships, learn, and build self-confidence throughout their school day.
They are supportive and caring toward their peers, other students throughout the school building, and other teachers. They strive for excellence and are determined to succeed in learning their kindergarten-leveled skills to the best of their ability.
My school is a wonderful resource for my students to come to learn and grow. I get excited when I hear my students exclaim, "I am so good at this," "It's okay ... you'll do better next time," and "Give me a hard problem! watch me do this!" Their excitement and positive attitude toward school makes my job as a teacher more exciting and enjoyable. As a school, we are striving to make a positive change in our school, community, and the lives of our students.
My Project

Snacks throughout the school day ensure that my students are not hungry while they are learning at school.
It is very difficult for children to focus on learning while they are hungry. It is my goal to provide snacks for my kindergarten students each day to move their focus from being hungry to learning at their greatest potential.
The snacks provided will enable me to "improve the world" of education for each of my students by giving them snacks throughout the school year so they are not hungry. Allowing my students to have a snack will take their mind off of their hunger and help them be comfortable in their learning environment.
