This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a first grade teacher with a great group of students! They are eager to learn and have an amazing work ethic and overall positive outlook on life. They deserve the best education possible. They are hard workers and strive to make their world a better place.
I teach at a Title I school, where every child receives free breakfast and lunch.
We are located near a large military base and as a result, serve children of active duty and retired military.
My Project
This project is inspired by my students who come in late and miss breakfast. As they anxiously await lunch, the students' attention isn't completely focused on the work and the tasks given to them. My students asked for snacks and we decided we should keep some healthy snacks on hand for occasions such as this.
I noticed that providing snacks for the students not only helped them stay on track during school time, but they were more likely to work harder and do better in school!
We are asking for snacks for the students for during school hours. The students are hungry to learn, and would benefit from the nutritional snacks to keep them full and focused on their school work.I am requesting various snacks and drinks such as Gatorade, veggie straws, and crackers. No child should have to learn on an empty stomach!
