Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach dual language in an inclusion program to serve children with both English and Spanish. My school serves low-income, high poverty students. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. My ultimate goal is to provide the best education and a safe learning environment for all of my students by supporting their everyday needs.

First graders love exploring and learning new things, they love using new technology and not to mention they love reading.

Preparing our students for the future is crucial for educational success.

Young minds need to be challenged, and no two students are the same. My students are all willing and ready to learn new things and enjoy sharing what they learned with family.

My Project

My students often come to school on an empty stomach looking forward for their breakfast. School meals are sometimes all that my students get. These snacks are crucial for my first graders! Having candies is a treat like skittles, cherry sours and more. The applesauce, vanilla wafers, brownies, Oreos and pop tarts will be given to my students when they are hungry. We would love to have apple juice, water, cranberry juice to have with our snacks. My students would love to have a handful of healthy peanuts as they are working.

Students should not be deprived of food!

These snacks will be handed out as students request to stop hunger in the classroom. Before going home my students will get a snack so they can eat it when they are home. Hygiene is just as important as snacks. These toothbrushes, Colgate toothpaste lotion and facial wipes are for daily use to keep my students face clean and moist. I often find myself washing my students faces in the morning and putting lotion on their face and hands. These supplies for health and wellness are crucial in our classroom. Please help my students by giving them snacks and clean faces.
