This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The goal of this important project is to provide my students with healthy snacks and other essentials! These snacks will be given to the students to enjoy while we are having celebrations. Leftover snacks will be given to my students each day until they run out. Students need healthy snacks and treats to remain focused in class. Healthy snacks like these will ensure students will be successful in the classroom because they will have brain food. We eat lunch very early in the morning, and it is hours before the students go home to get food. We have an extended school day due to the after-school program, therefore school ends at 4:30 pm most days. My goal is to ensure that none of my students are going home hungry.

This project will provide my 5th-grade students with healthy snacks and treats that they can eat, giving their brains fuel and their bodies the energy to be productive and healthy students throughout the day.

Along with the snacks, there are a few other essential items added to this project to benefit my students. The markers and stamps will be used to give feedback on student work and assessments. The book bag will be used to transport and store supplies. The first aid kid is essential to care for any accidents that might occur in the classroom.
