This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We want to make sure that our school is equitable, and it starts in our classrooms and communities. Some of my students eat only once a day and that only happens when they come to school. The middle schoolers have an early lunch - 10:20am and after school starts at 3:20pm. That is a long time without food! Having a classroom that is filled with snacks such as the Mott's Fruit Snacks, Nature Valley granola bars, GoGo squeeZ applesauce, and Quaker Chewy granola bars will help students stay more focused on their after school fitness club activities and will keep the hunger at bay until they get to their homes.

These snacks will help our students' energy stay high so that they could be curious, creative, and active throughout their day without worrying about where their next meal will come from.

Snacks can keep students from getting hungry and losing focus. These snacks will be a comfort to our students who are having difficulties as they will be able to focus on school and fitness instead of their empty stomachs.
