They are in your face independent with hopes and dreams as unique as they are themselves! 80% of my students receive free or reduced lunches and 50% of my students receive ESE services or ELL services. My students are in grades 6-8 and the ages range from 11 to 14! They are changing physically and emotionally during these pre-teen years and I strive to provide a safe and comfortable space for them to grow and learn. In my social studies classroom we strive to explore the world while learning about ourselves and how to become engaged and informed lifelong learners!
My Project
I have the privilege of serving amazing students! They are a group of kind, funny, and smart individuals. Knowing I get to serve these kids is what makes my job something I look forward to every day!
This amazing group is composed of 150 hard working students!
Although most students are part of a low SES, we are a class rich of diverse vocabulary and diverse personalities. All of the diversity works together to make a beautiful group.
My Project
My students need food and water to get through the school day. Our school is 98% free and reduced lunch. Because of this, our students get breakfast and lunch at school every day. Many students save part of their breakfast and lunch to take home. Throughout the day, my students still get hungry!
My students are coming from families who are not in the financial position to donate snack to our classroom.
I would love to provide my students with a snack each day to keep them energized and focused on learning! Currently, my students are using old plastic bottles for their water bottle in the classroom. I would like them all to have a water bottle they can keep at their desk and refill.
